If you like art and design, why not spend part of your summer in an inspiring environment with creative people ? The 10th Annual ArtCamp in Pilsen will take place from July 7 – 25 in the studios of the Faculty of Art an Design of the Univesity of West Bohemia.
This year's ArtCamp is offering some forty brand new courses with topics ranging from film animation, Japanese print making, game design, and drawing to dance. The classes will be taught by visiting international artists from the USA, Germany, Poland, Serbia and Portugal.
In addition to the new courses, there is a wide variety of workshops where you can learn to design logos, make and decorate objects from porcelain, work with sculpting clay, bind books, improve your drawing and painting skills, and learn indoor and outdoor photography. You can also learn the principles of architecture, jewelry design and various printmaking techniques.
Some of the outstanding faculty at this year's camp include Markus Dreßen, a Ladislav Sutnar Prize Laureate, from the Academy of Visual Arts leipzig, germany and jewelry design artists Susan Ewing, Sandra Gross and Samantha Skelton from the Miami University, USA. Their colleague John Humphries will come to teach the technique of Mixed Media Collage.
Tomasz Kawelczyk from the Strzeminsky Academy of Art in Lodz, Poland, will introduce you to Japanese Moku Hanga printmaking technique. His colleague Wieslaw Karolak will lead a workshop of plain air drawing and painting. Pawel Frackiewicz from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, Poland, will focus on drawing in combiantion with Japanese Mokulito printmaking technique. Marco Ginoulhiac from the University of Porto, Portugal, will teach you the principles of toy design, and Mira Antonović, a serbian artist living in Prague, will show you how to use papier mâché for painting.
