This exhibition showcasing portraits of Pilsen's inhabitants painted by young realist painters will offer an outline of the typical Pilsen, in its most varied form, though, using portraits of people in settings and moments characteristic of them. Paintings by six artists – Jan Mikulka, Jan Uldrych, Alžběta Josefy, Zdeněk Trs, Tomáš Němec and Aleš Brázdil – will be accompanied by photographs and texts related to the stories of the people portrayed and the personalities of the artists. The exhibition includes a film documenting the entire progress of the project – from the process of selecting the people to be portrayed and the meeting of the artists with the individuals chosen to the very painting and installation of the exhibition. Side events will include talks with the artists.
The vernissage of the exhibition takes place on 18 June from 6:00pm
