A theatrical performance prepared jointly by Czech and Belgian students. Ecole du Futur from Mons addressed Gymnázium Františka Křižíka from Pilsen and consequently 25 Czech and Belgian students are preparing a play, with the help of a theatre director, to be performed in 2015 in Pilsen and Mons. Artistic meetings take place in both cities in turn so that the students have a chance to encounter the culture and environment of the other country and city as well as learning and developing theatre skills. The language of the show is English mixed with Czech and French and the topics include the experiences, dreams, wishes and ideas of young people from the two European cities. I Will Turn 20 in 2015 is a multi-year project inspired by Mons 2015 as part of the activities connected to the European Capital of Culture. It wishes to address the 2015 generation and to actively include them in public life.
Culture Knows No Boundaries
The Pilsen 2015 project is mostly based on collaboration with foreign partners and their connection with local artists and cultural agents. This collaboration works on several levels and is projected into the main programme as well as smaller events. We can see examples of the international collaboration on every page of this publication. We would like to present two main areas where we have managed to create new activities or support existing ones: the collaboration with Mons in Belgium, the other European Capital of Culture in 2015; and a very strong connection with our Bavarian partners.
