The Czech Republic will host the Eurovision Young Dancers competition in 2015 for the first time. Organising the Eurovision competition has been entrusted to Czech Television, which, together with Český rozhlas (Czech Radio), is represented in the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). Besides the popular Eurovision Song Contest, every two years the EBU also organises the competitions called Eurovision Young Musicians and Eurovision Young Dancers. The tradition of this competition, dating back to 1956, last time attracted over a million viewers across all countries to their television screens, and its popularity is still increasing. Young musicians and dancers alternate annually, with odd years dedicated to dance.
The competition will be attended by dancers from 16 to 21 years of age, from 15 member countries of the European Broadcasting Union. They will prepare solo dances and group performances, which they will rehearse right in Pilsen and subsequently present at the New Theatre.
